Priceless memories captured by my Canon S400 digital camera

On November 03, 2004 our first child came into the world. As any parent can contest children bring many challenges - along with many joyful moments. Pictures have always been the source to capture a moment in time - to serve as a memory. And, like most new parents living in this high tech world we take lots of pictures of our daughter.

We bought the Canon S400 digital camera a couple years ago. It is a small compact camera and at a first glance it doesn't seem like something that can take high quality photos (a couple of years ago digital cameras were not so compact). It has a resolution of 4.1 megapixels with 3x optical zoom, which does well for regular 4x6 and even 8x10 prints too. Amazingly they are still for sale with the cheapest price of $276.00 from CameraForLess.com. See all Canon compact digital cameras with the best price of $150.

What I love most about digital photography is the ability to flip through pictures on your computer with matter of seconds. Almost daily my daughter points to the computer screen says baby baby. That is her way of saying "show me my photos again daddy". So not only daily I get to spend time with my daughter, sharing stories with her with each picture, but I also get to refresh myself with the joy and wonders that our child has brought us.

This could never be possible before digital imaging came along. Right now we have close to a thousand images just of our daughter. Can you imagine the cost to print all those and for the photoalbums? Not to mention the space you would need for the coming months and years to store all those pictures / photoalbums.

If you're looking to buy a digital camera take a moment to compare digital cameras from my main site. As a rule of thumb, if you want a digital camera for computer use and to make 4x6 prints then you need at least 3 megapixels. For anything bigger and non professional then 4 megapixels will do. If you are not sure where to begin or what to look for when buying, drop me a line and I will do my best to help you - free of charge.

Until next time
